Asda trials customer loyalty programme across 16 stores

Asda has announced it will extend its rewards loyalty app trial to customers in 16 stores.

Customers at the 16 stores across West Yorkshire and the West Midlands can now download the Asda rewards app from today on their smartphones.

Those using the app can earn rewards when buying selected branded and Asda own-label star products, including everyday grocery lines, beers, wines, spirits and household cleaning and pet products.

Customers will also be rewarded for branded purchases from companies such as Cadbury’s, Heinz, Pampers, Budweiser, Gillette and more.

Asda shoppers will also be able to add to the cash pot by completing in-app missions, such as buying five fruit and veg items to unlock their five a day badge.

The in-app cash pot can be redeemed for cash by creating a voucher with the money they have saved.

As the trial goes on, the Big 4 grocer will customise offers so customers can earn cash by buying their favourite groceries or products that are environmentally friendly.

The trial comes following a successful pilot carried out by over 2000 Asda colleagues, whose feedback helped develop the app.

“We know our customers want the best possible value when shopping with us, especially as household budgets become stretched,” Vice president, customer proposition and planning, Matt Mclellan said.

“Our Asda Rewards trial rewards our loyal customers with pounds not points for buying the products they love.

“We hope that our customers will enjoy building up their cash pot during the trial and spending it on whatever they like in store – or saving it for the all-important Christmas shop.”
