Morrisons has recalled its own brand amour classic vanilla ice cream over fears that it may contain small pieces of plastic.
Shoppers who purchased the item with a best before date of February 2023 are being asked to return it immediately for a full refund.

“Morrisons have recalled Morrisons amour classic vanilla ice cream because the product may contain small pieces of plastic,” a statement on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website read.
“The possible presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat.
“Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
“If you have bought the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”
As a result, the supermarket has apologised for the inconvenience caused.
“No other products or best before dates are affected,” the supermarket added.
“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”
