Nisa Local store acquired by Eros Retail in Peterhead

A Nisa Local store in Peterhead has been acquired by convenience store operator Eros Retail.

The store, which has been trading for over 67 years by the Neish and Anderson families, will be run by Eros company and Nisa partner Greens of Peterhead, which also own Greens of Ellon in Aberdeenshire.

According to Nisa, changes to the convenience store will include extended opening hours from 7am-10pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 10pm on Sunday, alongside an expanded offering of products.

The shop is also set to install new hot and cold drink machines, which includes a Costa Express, F’real milkshakes and Skwishee Frozenated Drinks.

It will also be increasing its baked goods offerings and in-store butchery, preparing fresh local meat on site.

The retailer added that “significant investment” will be going into energy-efficient upgrades to the infrastructure.

“We look forward to focusing on retaining and growing local offerings such a JG Ross and Bert Fowlie whilst also introducing fancy pieces from the likes of Gladstone Bakery which are manufactured less than a mile from the store”, Eros Retail commercial manager Louise Moreland said.

“We are particularly thrilled to be expanding the butchery in the weeks after takeover which will now be overseen by our master butcher from Greens of Ellon, Barry Bartlet, who will bring quality, freshness and deliver a wider variety of produce to the store.”

Eros Retail director Harris Aslam added: “We are honoured to be acquiring a store with such a strong legacy and hope to preserve the high standard of loyalty the community has experienced since 1954.

“We look forward to working closely with the store team, customers and local suppliers to bring new and exciting products and offerings to the store.”
