C&C announces 2 directors to step down in coming months

Drinks group C&C Group has announced two of its directors are to step down in the autumn.

Its current chief operating officer, Andrea Pozzi, is to leave the position on September 1. He will instead take up the position of managing the company’s combined GB businesses.

The makers of Magners cider said it will not replace the COO position and that the current board responsibilities associated with that position will be fulfilled by the remaining executive directors.

“I am excited with the opportunity to lead our enlarged GB business and it is with careful consideration that I felt this role requires my complete focus and dedication. I look forward to driving the next stage of C&C’s evolution in the GB market,” Pozzi said.

C&C also announced Jim Clerkin, non-executive director, will also be stepping down from October 27, after four years on the board.

Clerkin said the decision was influenced as a consequence of his increased work and responsibilities in the USA.

C&C non-executive chair Stewart Gilliland added: “I am delighted that Andrea has agreed to lead our enlarged GB business and I would like to thank Andrea for his significant contribution to the Board over the last four years.

“I would also like to extend my thanks to Jim Clerkin for his valued contribution and the considerable experience he has brought to the board of C&C over the last four years.”
