Mars UK poaches Innocent’s William Blomefiled for director role

Mars Wrigley has appointed William Blomefield as public affairs director for the UK.

Blomefield joins from Innocent Drinks, where he held the position of group head of public affairs and external communications.

Before joining Innocent, he held a range of positions at Big 4 grocer Tesco, which included head of EU affairs, head of government relations and head of health campaigns.

He began his career at global law firm DLA Piper and held the post of head of regulatory affairs at the Advertising Association.

In a LinkedIn post Blomefiled said: “After an amazing few years at Innocent, I’m delighted to be joining Mars today as public affairs director in the UK. Thanks to Innocent for such a great send-off and to Mars for the very warm welcome.”

The news comes as the confectionery brand announced the appointment of Adam Grant as general manager.

He joins from dairy company Danone, where he was a regional vice president, a post he has held since 2017.

Before joining Danone, Grant held positions at L’Oréal, where he became the UK sales director for Garnier and Maybelline.
