Van Houten has announced the launch of their new ruby hot chocolate.  

It is the first powdered drink of the chocolate variety on the market and will be made available to customers through baristas and coffee bars across the UK. 

“We are proud to be the first to offer a ruby hot chocolate drink powder”, Barry Callebaut vice-president of vending and beverages EMEA Freek van der Knaap said.

“This chocolate drink has all the flavour and colour of ruby chocolate and the power dissolves very easily in any type of milk, in hot or cold applications.  

“Ruby chocolate drink powder will help us to unlock the beverage category for Horeca customers.”  

The Dutch company introduced ruby chocolate in 2017 and describes the product as having a “smooth berry sweetness.” 

Van Houten has been owned by the Barry Callebaut Group since 1998.
