Chapel Down appoints new non-executive director

People

Wine and drinks producer Chapel Down Group has appointed Stewart Gilliland to the board as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

Gilliland has over 30 years of experience in international marketing, business and logistics.

He currently holds the position of non-executive director at Big 4 grocer Tesco.

Prior to the Big 4 grocer, Gilliland was chairman of Booker group. He has also held executive roles with leading consumer-facing companies, including Whitbread, Mitchells & Butler and Interbrew.

He held the position of chief executive of Müller Dairies UK and Ireland until 2010.

“I am delighted to formally welcome Stewart to the Board. Stewart brings not only extensive drinks industry experience and FMCG expertise built at ABInBev, Muller, M&B, Tesco and C&C but also a love of great brands and enthusiasm for our business,” Chapel Down chief executive Frazer Thompson said.
