Tesco is understood to be preparing to relaunch its F&F clothing range online, allowing customers to buy the products through its website for the first time since 2018.

According to Drapers, the digital offer, which is expected to go live later this year, will sit alongside the supermarket’s marketplace on Tesco.com.

The online marketplace launched in June and contains thousands of third-party products across categories including DIY, garden, homeware, petcare and toys to give shoppers “access to more” than the retailer carries in-store or online.

Tesco’s Greg Bertrand, who is head of its rapid delivery service Whoosh, was appointed head of online for F&F earlier in the year and is thought to be overseeing the relaunch.

In 2009, the grocer launched its first dedicated F&F clothing website, however this was combined with the Tesco Direct site for general merchandise and clothing in 2016.

Two years later, the Direct website was shut down after the supermarket said it had “no route to profitability”. F&F clothing had since been available via Next’s online site from 2019 until January of this year.

The news comes as earlier this month, F&F launched its first ever homeware brand, offering over 1,000 lines spanning all areas of home décor and furnishings.

Products from the range, which starts at 50p, include plates and glassware, rugs and foot stools, bedding, soft furnishings, and decorative accessories.
