Morrisons has been ranked as number 11 on this year’s Big 30 after wholesales grew by 15.6% in the past 12 months to £902 million, the Lumina Intelligence Wholesale Market report has revealed.
The supermarket’s success is expected to reach its £1 billion wholesales target, which would place it within the top 10 UK wholesalers.
Central to Morrisons growth has been Amazon and McColl’s supply deals, which were both increased last year.

Currently, Morrisons supplies 1,200 McColl’s stores with 230 of them coming from Nisa. Plans have also included a rapid conversion programme from McColl’s to Morrisons Daily.
With 100 Morrisons Daily’s in the estate, the plan is to grow the number to 450 by November.
In addition to McColl’s, Morrisons products have been sold in several Amazon Just Walk Out stores and the Morrisons on Amazon home delivery service has reached over 60 towns and covers 60% of the population.
The retailer has also been linked to the forecourt sector with Harvest, MPK and Rontec. Supply and bulk delivery arrangements have also been on the agenda with Unitas and Blakemore.
However, the news comes as Morrisons had to close 10 independent retailers due to HGV driver shortages.
In September, Morrisons also expressed interest in the hospitality sector reaching an agreement with StarStock to sell 1,500 lines into the on-trade.
The supermarket stated it was “excited to be serving pubs, restaurants and hotels across the country through our wholesale business”.
The announcement comes as Morrisons revealed a new fuel incentive to shoppers in a bid to combat soaring fuel prices.
