Mars has expanded its range of Galaxy Frappes with two new flavours, Vanilla Frappe and Strawberries & Cream Frappe, set to launch at Tesco and Sainsbury’s from June.

The range launched last year to meet the growing consumer demand for café-style drinks which can be made at home with an accessible price point.

General manager at Mars Drinks & Treats, Kerry Cavanaugh, said: “The Frappe space has seen relatively little innovation in the premium multi-serve retail space.

“With Vanilla Frappe and Strawberries & Cream Frappe, we’re building on the success of the range and strengthening our position in this subcategory, giving retailers more ways to tap into demand for indulgent, café-style drinks.

“At around £0.49 per serve compared to £5 on the high street, Galaxy Frappes deliver a cost-effective way to enjoy a coffee shop experience at home.”

The expanded line builds on the success of the previous products, which is aligned with the increasing consumption of iced and cold coffee-infused drinks at home.

The new products were designed for efficiency, including frappe drink powders made with white chocolate, which can only require ice and milk for preparation.

This expansion comes as the Galaxy brand has experienced strong growth, with a 17 per cent increase in value year-on-year according to figures from NIQ.

The popular hot chocolate brand is developing innovative flavours to maintain sales momentum, experiencing a 4.7 per cent increase according to data from Kantar.
