Morrisons increases volume rebates for independent retailers
Supermarket Morrisons has announced newly revised terms for independent retail partners operating Morrisons Daily stores, which is part of its plan to grow its convenience store business.
Independent retailers can receive up to 6% of volume rebate, an increase from the previous 1.5% cap on products effective in July.
Additionally, Morrisons will offer lower wholesale prices to its franchise retailers compared to the company-operated convenience stores.
Paul Dobson, Morrisons’ director for Wholesale Convenience, said: “We have made significant strides in recent months to strengthen our Morrisons Daily proposition and set ourselves up for future growth.”

“Our new and existing franchise partners are pivotal to our overall success, and the team and I have been out and about listening to feedback from them and their customers, seeing first hand what is working well and what we need to improve on.”
He added: “We’re excited to implement these enhanced terms for our independent retail partners and confident they will help us meet our ambitious growth plans for our Morrisons Daily estate.”
This is part of the supermarket retailer’s business strategy to expand its convenience store network.
The retailer is also rolling out its loyalty program cards at the convenience stores over the summer, which will allow shoppers to collect More Card Points for each of their purchases.
Morrisons recently linked its club card loyalty program to the delivery platform Deliveroo.
