Charles Leclerc challenges chess grandmaster to new game to celebrate his debut whisky
As part of his ambassadorship with Chivas Regal, F1 star Charles Leclerc will be competing against chess grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura in a game of SE!ZE, a chess inspired game that was created by the Ferrari driver.
The game will be taking place at the Chivas Regal Arena of Mastery and was created to celebrate the release of Chivas Regal 16, Leclerc’s debut whisky, which was created in partnership with blender Sandy Hyslop.
The whisky is a blend of 16 whiskies that had been aged for at least 16 years with a sherry cask matured Longmorn single malt.

The number 16, which is Leclerc’s F1 number, is featured throughout the campaign- in the whisky’s age and in the game, its name, Seize, is the French word for 16.
Leclerc said: “16 has always been more than a number to me – it’s something I’ve carried my whole career.
“Chivas Regal and I share the same belief that the standard you set today is just the starting point. Chivas Regal 16 felt like the natural next step in our partnership, creating something truly extraordinary together”
The game will be livestreamed on Chivas Regal’s YouTube channel on 1 September at 16.50 BST. Viewers will also be able to submit questions to the pair.
