Terry’s Chocolate Orange storms biscuit aisle in Maryland S’wich tie-up
Fox’s Burton’s Companies is taking Terry’s Chocolate Orange into the biscuit aisle for the first time with a new Maryland S’wich collaboration targeting a combined shopper base of 15 million people.
Maryland S’wich Terry’s Chocolate Orange brings together what FBC describes as ‘the UK’s number one small cookie brand and the country’s leading orange chocolate brand, giving retailers a high-profile crossover designed to attract confectionery shoppers into sweet biscuits’.
The launch pairs Maryland’s crunchy chocolate chip cookie sandwich with Terry’s signature orange flavour, including the brand’s real orange oil.
It marks the first flavour extension for Maryland S’wich since the format launched in July 2025 and follows Maryland’s recent limited-edition collaboration with Harry Potter on Butterbeer-flavoured cookies.
The new 150g pack is rolling into Tesco Group and Booker stores for an initial four-week exclusive period during July, before launching across major retailers and wholesalers from 12 August.
A price-marked pack will also be available, with the range carrying a recommended retail price of £1.39.
FBC said the partnership presents a significant opportunity to recruit Terry’s loyal confectionery customers into the biscuit category, while giving existing Maryland shoppers a fresh reason to buy.
Chocolate orange ranks among the five most popular flavours within the anytime-treats market, while consumer testing for the new product generated purchase intent of 85 per cent, according to the manufacturer.
The supplier also expects Terry’s strong association with Christmas to give the product further momentum following its summer launch, potentially extending its relevance beyond the initial trial period and into the key festive trading season.
FBC chief sales and trade marketing officer Jo Harwood said: “By partnering with Terry’s, Maryland is once again S’wiching up the biscuit aisle.
“The collaboration is designed to engage both existing fans and new consumers in the chocolate confectionery category, while creating meaningful opportunities to support category growth and sales performance.
“The launch is also expected to benefit from the seasonal association and pull that Terry’s has around Christmas following its initial launch period.”
Terry’s Chocolate marketing director for the UK and Ireland My-Anh Bosquet described the move into biscuits as a landmark for the brand.
“Terry’s is all about finding new ways to bring people joy, and teaming up with the UK’s number one small cookie brand is exactly that,” she said.
“Seeing our iconic orange flavour baked into the Maryland S’wich for our first-ever entry into the biscuit aisle is a genuine landmark for Terry’s.”
