The Pickle House lands Waitrose deal as pickle juice trend reaches new heights

News

The Pickle House is launching its Original Pickle Juice into Waitrose, as demand for the tangy drink moves further into mainstream grocery.

The Suffolk-based brand will roll the product into 192 Waitrose stores from next month, with an rsp of £8.50 for a 500ml bottle.

It marks the first time a dedicated pickle juice product has been listed by a major UK supermarket.

The drink is infused for 12 weeks with sliced cucumbers and a blend of spices, creating a smooth, sharp flavour designed for drinking neat, adding to cocktails or using as a pickleback chaser with whisky.

The Pickle House also positions the product as a functional drink, citing its electrolyte content and use by consumers looking for hydration or muscle cramp support.

The brand said the listing comes as pickle flavours continue to gain traction across food and drink, helped by social media trends, celebrity interest and growing demand for sharper, more savoury flavours.

The Pickle House was founded by Florence Cherruault after she developed an interest in drinking pickle juice during a trip to New York.

The business now produces its pickle juice, spiced tomato mix and Bloody Mary products on her grandparents’ farm in Suffolk.

Its Spiced Tomato Mix is already listed by Waitrose, where it is sold as a cocktail mixer made with tomato juice, Original Pickle Juice and spices.

The latest listing gives the brand a stronger presence in grocery and brings a niche foodservice and cocktail ingredient into the supermarket aisle.

The Pickle House said its Original Pickle Juice is made with natural ingredients, is suitable for vegans and has an 18-month shelf life.
