Aldi calls on public to suggest new store locations
Aldi has called on the public to help identify the best sites for new stores across the UK as it pushes towards national expansion.
The discounter has invited customers to submit suggestions for where new Aldi stores should be built, and the most requested locations will be reviewed by Aldi’s team.
Aldi has plans to invest over £370m in new stores this year as part of its long-term goal of 1,500 locations in the UK.
Jonathan Neale, MD of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re asking our shoppers to help us identify the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store.

“Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay.”
The discounter ran a similar initiative last year which led to locations in London, Merseyside and Oxfordshire being recognised as priority sites among shoppers.
Aldi is asking for submissions by 18 June and will share the results and release the next round of priority locations later this year.
This announcement comes after the retailer announced plans to open eight new stores in Greater London this year as part of a £40m investment in expanding its retail footprint.
