Inside the ‘chocolate-drenched’ Amsterdam hotel suite created by Tony’s Chocolonely
The Social Hub has revealed the first images of a one-off chocolate-themed hotel suite created in partnership with Tony’s Chocolonely, with the immersive space packed with more than 2,000 chocolate bars, themed cocktails and ice cream sundaes.
The pop-up suite, located at The Social Hub Amsterdam City, has been designed as a money-can’t-buy experience celebrating what the two B Corps describe as the “world’s sweetest people”.
Open for just 10 days from 20 March, the room was offered to winners selected through a campaign inviting people across the UK and mainland Europe to nominate the kindest people in their lives for a stay.
Spread across two levels, the suite features three themed spaces filled with Tony’s Chocolonely products and designed to encourage connection, sharing and conversation.

The main area, called Shared Connection: The Red Room, combines a kitchen, lounge and sleeping space in warm red tones inspired by Tony’s signature wrappers. Chocolate is stocked throughout, while chocolate-themed games and conversation prompts have been added to encourage guests to interact.
A second space, Bright Reflections: The Blue Room, features bold cobalt tones and a retro-style vending machine stocked with chocolate bars wrapped in conversation starters. Upstairs, Bold Recognitions: The Black and White Roomincludes a magnetic wall where guests can leave messages for future visitors.
Even the bathroom has been filled with Tony’s Chocolonely treats, while guests are welcomed at check-in with a themed cocktail or mocktail and given access to an in-room ice cream sundae kit.
Alongside the indulgent design, the collaboration also carries a wider message around kindness, connection and the realities of cocoa supply chains.
Tony’s Chocolonely said the activation is intended to raise awareness of exploitation in the West African cocoa industry and show how everyday consumer choices can affect others across the supply chain.
As part of the experience, guests are invited to take part in a “sweet access challenge”, which encourages them to share five chocolate bars with strangers in the hotel lobby in order to unlock a prize.
Visitors will also receive a specially created limited-edition two-piece bar, with one half intended to keep and the other to give away. The exclusive flavour combines white and milk chocolate with caramel and sea salt and is only available through the pop-up.
In a further attempt to bring the campaign’s message into the guest experience, a wake-up call delivered via the suite’s landline highlights the issue of exploitation across the cocoa supply chain.
Charlie Ayres, head of brand at The Social Hub, said the concept was designed to be both playful and purposeful.
“At its heart, this space is about togetherness, and that guided us through the concept,” he said. “From the moment you step inside, the suite is a full sensory celebration of chocolate; a design-led, colour-blocked immersive experience that is fun, surprising and inspiring.
“We wanted every part of the room to spark togetherness and encourage kindness, using chocolate to create opportunities to share, interact and above all, be sweet to one another.
“This is a one-off, limited experience designed to celebrate some of the world’s sweetest people, while also telling a more important story.”
The activation reflects the growing use of experiential brand partnerships to drive awareness and engagement, while also giving Tony’s Chocolonely another platform to spotlight its wider ethical mission beyond the supermarket shelf.
