Whole Foods Market has announced plans to open six new stores in London by June, marking a major step in its UK expansion.

This builds on the opening of its first UK shop in a decade last year at King’s Road, Chelsea, and doubles the supermarket’s portfolio to a total of 12 locations in the UK.

Whole Foods Market’s newest locations will open across Angel, Liverpool Street and Notting Hill Gate; Wood Wharf (Canary Wharf); Monument; and St James’s neighbourhoods.

Jason Buechel, CEO of Whole Foods Market, said: “We’re happy to be expanding Whole Foods Market’s physical store presence in the UK, allowing us to reach more customers with our uncompromising quality standards and carefully curated selection of natural and organic products.

“Each new store represents an opportunity to bring responsibly sourced, high-quality food to more communities who share our values of nourishing people and the planet.”

The supermarkets will stock a range of organic and fresh produce, alongside ready-made meals such as salads, sandwiches and hot dishes.

Additionally, there will be meat and sustainable seafood, fresh bakery items and speciality foods, including cheeses, charcuterie and a selection of beers, wines and spirits.

The store also features other departments such as wellness and beauty ranges and exclusive items including premium flowers and iced drinks.

Whole Foods Market plans to make a range of charitable donations to celebrate the openings, including contributions to community and non-profit organisations such as FoodCycle, All Saints Food Bank, and Independent Food Aid Network.

At the openings of Angel and Wood Wharf, the supermarket will make a donation to The Felix Project, which supports surplus food redistribution.

The new locations set to open are as follows:

  • Angel, The Mall, 359 Upper Street, The Angel – 2 April 2026
