Tesco has announced the return of its Kids Eat Free scheme across its 332 cafés and coffee shops in the UK over the February half-term break.

The supermarket retailer will be offering one complementary Kids Hot Meal Deal, Breakfast or Pick ‘n’ Mix deal with any adult purchase upon scanning the Tesco Clubcard.

This deal runs between 16 and 20 February in England and Wales and between 9 and 20 February in Scotland.

The move aims to help families who are dealing with financial pressure over the school holidays, with customers being able to get free kids’ meals with a purchase as little as 65p.

Claire De Silva, head of communities at Tesco, said: “We know that household budgets can be really stretched over school holidays, so offering free meals to children during this time is just one of the ways we can support families.”

The menu features breakfast options such as Egg & Soldiers, Beans & Soldiers and Pancakes.

The retailer is also offering hot main meal choices such as Omega 3 Fish Fingers, Baked Chicken Strips and Pork Sausages.

Tesco’s Pick’n’Mix has an option that has a sandwich, a drink, two snacks and a piece of fresh fruit for children.

This news follows supermarket Morrisons announcing a kids eat free breakfast programme to help families feed their children over the break.
