ChariTea secures listing with Waitrose

Iced tea brand ChariTea, which is made from organic ingredients and is free from refined sugars, is set to launch across 141 Waitrose stores as well as online.

Three of the products, ChariTea Black, Red and Mate, which are priced at £1.95 per 330ml glass bottle, will be stocked on the retailer’s shelves.

The Mate drink is a caffeinated iced tea which is sweetened with agave, serving as a substitute for consumers who do not want alcohol or sugary energy drinks.

The Red contains South African rooibos tea blended with passion fruit juice and sweetened with agave.

While Black is a blend of organic Sri Lankan black tea with lemon and agave.

Julian Warowioff, MD of ChariTea said: “Launching with Waitrose lets us bring our approach to quality and social responsibility to many more people at a time when shoppers are looking for drinks that hydrate naturally and stand for something real.

“The iced tea category is growing fast, and we are excited to offer a more premium and conscious option with a retailer that shares our values.”

The brand supports charitable initiatives, with the Lemonaid & ChariTea Foundation receiving 5p for every bottle sold to help communities in Africa, Asia and South America.
