Just Eat Takeaway to axe 450 jobs
European delivery giant Just Eat Takeaway (JET) plans to cut around 450 roles across multiple countries and functions after a review of its business strategy.
The move aims to improve operational efficiency, and the business plans to provide support to affected colleagues.
Some of the roles at risk include customer service and sales admin positions.
The decision comes as Just Eat Takeaway plans to integrate automation and artificial intelligence technology to enhance its customer experience.

A Just Eat Takeaway spokesperson said: “To ensure we have the right organisational structure in place to position the company for success, we have made the difficult decision to reduce the size of our workforce.
“By having a more streamlined approach, we believe we will be able to further enhance the experience for our consumers and partners. Altogether, this will impact a small proportion of the total JET employees. We will provide full support to the impacted team members, and we are incredibly grateful for the contributions they have made to the business.”
Additionally, some manual customer service tasks, including simple enquiries, will be transitioned to automated solutions.
However, the business stressed that AI will not fully replace the human element in their services.
