Morrisons names former Aldi executive as logistics director
Morrisons has appointed Andy Gillies as the new logistics director.
He brings years of experience to the role, having previously worked as Aldi UK regional logistics director between 1999 and 2016. He led the discounter’s logistics network, including transport, distribution and warehouse operations.
In a statement, Morrisons said: “Andy brings a wealth of experience from over 30 years in retail and logistics, including 21 years at Aldi where he helped shape their logistics network, and most recently as Group Logistics Director at Greencore.”
He also served as food manufacturer Greencore’s group logistics director from 2022 to 2025 in his most recent position.

Additionally, Gillies previously worked as Greencore’s business unit director between 2016 and 2022.
Gillies commented in a statement posted on LinkedIn: “I’m really pleased to join such an iconic British retailer.
“Grocery is a tough and competitive sector, and with my team, my responsibility will be to deliver great service and availability to our stores while finding operational efficiencies to reduce cost. I can’t wait to get started!”
