PepsiCo confirms job at risk at Walkers sites
PepsiCo, the parent company of crisps manufacturer Walkers, has announced restructuring plans that could lead to an undisclosed number of job losses at its UK manufacturing plants.
The proposed changes are set to take place at Walker’s Leicester, Coventry, Lincoln and Skelmersdale’s sites.
A PepsiCo UK spokesperson said: “We recently told our teams that we will be consulting on proposed changes to our operational structure, affecting a proportion of employees at our snacks manufacturing sites in the UK.
“No decisions will be made without first consulting affected employees and their representatives. Our priority is providing support for our people throughout this process.

“The changes being proposed are intended to bring our UK sites in line with a different operating structure we have had success with at some of our other international sites, leading to better ways of working and increased technical capabilities.”
The number of jobs which will be cut remains undisclosed, but PepsiCo has confirmed some positions will be affected by the decision.
The FMCG giant downsizing its staff members comes amid increased improvements at its sites, with a £58m investment in the Leicester factory previously announced.
In May, the Walker’s owner ramped up its sustainability initiatives by installing three electric ovens to reduce emissions.
