Symington will oversee the company’s sales and customer strategy as well as lead marketing initiatives. He will report directly to Emma Fox, Berry Bros & Rudd’s chief executive.
Fox said: “I have known Rob for a number of years, having worked together on projects such as our acquisition of Hambledon Wine Estate. Rob is a creative and strategic leader, and he’ll be a fantastic addition to our business.
“This appointment shows our commitment to strengthening our leadership team with exceptional people to help our business grow and to meet our future ambitions.”

Prior to his appointment, Symington ran the commercial strategy, wine tourism, and sales and marketing department at Symington Family Estates.
“I have huge admiration for Berry Bros & Rudd, a family business that combines the best of British heritage with a thoroughly modern and dynamic outlook. I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the team,” he said.
The news comes on the heels of Jamie Ritche’s recent appointment as Managing Director, International and Auctions, wine merchant at Berry Bros & Rudd and the company announcing its plans to expand into the US this year.
