Aldi is making its Too Good To Go ‘Surprise Bags’ available for reservation earlier than ever before for Easter.

Customers of the discounter will be able to reserve a bag, which costs £3.30 and contains at least £10 worth of food approaching its sell-by or use-by date, via the Too Good To Go app up to five days in advance, as opposed to the usual 24-hours.

Shoppers in England and Wales will be able to place an order from Monday 14 April, for collection on Saturday 19 April, ahead of stores closing for Easter Sunday.

Aldi UK national sustainability director Luke Emery said: “We know the Too Good To Go Surprise Bags are very popular with shoppers, and with stores set to close on Easter Sunday, we’re offering even more flexibility to reserve a bargain in advance.

“We’re proud of our long-standing partnership with Too Good To Go as part of our commitment to encourage everyone to prevent food waste together. It also means our customers can save even more money when shopping at Aldi and prevent unsold food from going to waste.”

Last month, Aldi’s share of the grocery market hit 11% for the first time as its sales grow at the fastest rate since January 2024.

According to Kantar, Aldi’s market share rose by 0.3 percentage points from last year as its sales grew by 5.6%.
