Sainsbury’s and Aldi slash the prices of festive food staples
Aldi and Sainsbury’s are lowering the prices of festive food staples in a bid to help shoppers save in the run up to the big day.
Through its Nectar Prices loyalty scheme, Sainsbury’s is offering customers 25% off turkey centrepieces, with its own-brand standard small, medium and large turkeys priced at £3 per kg, down from £4 from 19 to 26 December.
Meanwhile, the supermarket’s by Sainsbury’s Scottish Whole Salmon will be available to Nectar customers at 50% off from 18 to 31 December, down to £7.50 per kg.

Across classic Christmas dinner vegetables, the by Sainsbury’s white potatoes, carrots, British parsnips, British swede, red cabbage, white cabbage, and Brussels sprouts will all be priced at 15p with Nectar from 18 to 24 December.
Meanwhile, discounter Aldi will also be cutting the prices of festive veg staples to 15p as part of its Christmas Super Six promotion, from 19 to 24 December in stores.
The offer will roll out across white potatoes, carrots, parsnips, red and white cabbages, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli.
It comes as Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons and Tesco have all launched 2024 advent calendars or festive spending challenges, offering shoppers a series of promotional savings and discounts in the lead up to Christmas Day.
