Data: The products most impacted by shrinkflation

Butter and crisps are among the products that have been hit most by shrinkflation – the practice of reducing the quantity of product in a package – over the past 10 years, a new study has found.

According to research by Compare the Market, digestive biscuits have been hit the hardest by shrinkflation with a 28% decrease in size since 2014, followed by Choco Pops, which have shrunk by 24%, leading to a unit cost jump of 61%.

Digestive biscuits have also been hit the hardest by inflation over the same period, with the unit cost increasing by 129%, which Compare the Market said meant that Brits are now paying 71p more for the biscuits, but getting 28% less for their money.
