Britvic shareholders approve Carlsberg acquisition
Britvic’s shareholders have voted to approve Carlsberg’s acquisition of the firm following its general meeting earlier today.
The soft drink manufacturer confirmed that more than 99% of the votes cast were in favour of the deal.
The acquisition remains subject to regulatory approvals and the other conditions being met.

Carlsberg’s and Robinsons maker Britvic agreed worth £3.3bn deal in July.
At the time, Carlsberg group CEO Jacob Aarup-Andersen said the acquisition supported its “growth ambitions, being immediately earnings accretive and value-accretive in year three”.
However, Unite the union has called for urgent talks with the Danish brewer over warnings that hundreds of possible job losses could follow the impending takeover.
