Heinz and Absolut’s viral vodka pasta sauce returns to UK supermarkets
Heinz and Absolut’s viral tomato vodka pasta sauce is returning to supermarket shelves following high consumer demand.
The sauce, which sold out in four days during its initial limited-edition launch in March 2023, was inspired by supermodel Gigi Hadid’s recipe for the dish – which went viral in 2020, when it became one of the most copied recipes on TikTok and Instagram.
At the time of the launch, Heinz said that adding vodka to the tomato-based sauce “unlocks the flavours and intensifies the aroma”.
As shoppers have been urging the brands to bring back the product, it is set to roll out exclusively in Waitrose stores this week, followed by further UK supermarkets later this year.

Kraft Heinz head of growth Caio Fonetele told Mail Online: “After receiving countless messages from fans all over the world asking how they could get their hands on a jar, we knew we couldn’t ignore it.
“Now, everybody can have the ultimate Pasta alla Vodka experience with the iconic combination of Heinz’s high-quality tomatoes and Absolut’s premium vodka.”
It marks just one of a number of unexpected product offerings from the FMCG giant in recent months as it looks to experiment and expand its range of sauces.
Earlier this year, Heinz launched a limited edition The Godfather Pasta Sauce at Waitrose, inspired by the film’s iconic spaghetti meatball recipe, and partnered with Mattel for a limited-edition pink Heinz Classic ‘Barbiecue’ Sauce to coincide with the release of the Barbie movie last year.
