Pepsi products pulled from European supermarket giant over ‘unacceptable’ price hikes

Supermarket giant Carrefour has dropped PepsiCo products from four European countries following the business’ price hikes.

Carrefour has installed in-store signs that informed shoppers that PepsiCo’s “unacceptable price increases” were the reason behind the retailer’s decision.

A spokesperson for the grocery giant said the decision would apply to more than 9,000 across France, Belgium, Italy and Spain.

This impacts not just Pepsi drinks but other products owned by the US food giant including Doritos and Lays crisps and Quaker cereal.

Pepsi told Grocery Gazette: “We’ve been in discussion with Carrefour for many months and we will continue to engage in good faith in order to try to ensure that our products are available.”
