Deliveroo HOP sees 106% rise in orders for Christmas essentials

Deliveroo’s rapid grocery service HOP, has seen orders for Christmas essentials up by 106% on November as shoppers look to make last-minute purchases.

For shoppers in Brighton, this figure rises to 169%, with 145% in Bristol, as shoppers look to get their hands on the most wanted festive foods before the big day.

According to Deliveroo, the most popular Christmas products for rapid delivery are tubs of Quality Street, Cadbury Snowy Fingers, mince pies, brie, profiteroles and Shloer.

The grocery service’s exclusive data also found that popular hangover cure products saw a boost in December with orders for bacon 10% higher than in November, with Berocca up 32% and Lucozade up 25%.

“The festive season is well and truly in full swing, and it’s great to see our customers embracing the Christmas spirit and stocking up an array of seasonal treats alongside their usual kitchen staples,” Deliveroo vice-predident of product, grocery, Sam Hancock said.

“We love delivering these classic festive favourites to people’s doors in minutes – as well as helping to serve up remedies to those who might be feeling a little worse for wear after celebrating at their Christmas parties.”

This comes as Zapp has launched a new partnership with Deliveroo, allowing consumers using the grocery delivery service’s app to order from Zapp’s catalogue of over 2,500 items, including fine wines, premium snacks, beauty products and others.
