Sainsbury’s to launch 65 products in new healthy food range

Sainsbury’s is set to launch its new healthy food range Flourish, with over 65 nutritional products rolling out next month.

Available in stores from 4 January 2023, the range featuring soups, ready meals and food-to-go snacks looks to help consumers stick to their healthy eating habits and New Year’s resolutions.

The Big 4 grocer’s new health-based prepared meal range includes 12 options from Beef Lasagne, Middle Eastern Chicken and Salmon with New Potatoes & Veg Medley, each priced between £1.60 and £4.

The ready meals also feature a variety of vegetarian options including Smoky Sweetcorn Soup, Roast Red Pepper & Tomato Soup, and an Italian Style Roasted Vegetable pot for non-meat eaters and those taking on the annual Veganuary challange.

Across the snacking category, Sainsbury’s has added options which are high in fibre and protein such as its Sea Salt & Black Pepper Crunch Mix or Indian Spiced Cauliflower Crackers which can be used alongside the Beetroot Houmous.

Branching out into breakfast, Sainsbury’s has launched an Energise Infusion Tea and three Flourish smoothies which include vitamins B1, B6 and B12c, each with a selection of different fruits from £1.80 to £2.

Also looking to revamp its meal deal, six new products including sandwiches, wraps and salads will be part of the £5 offer from January with flavours such as Tuna, Sweet Potato & Egg Salad, Lemon and Pesto Chicken Sandwich and a Chicken Shawarma Wrap.

This comes as Sainsbury’s CEO Simon Roberts is set to invest £550 million to ensure prices are kept low during the next two years.

Roberts told the Mail on Sunday that Sainsbury’s will “take on Aldi” to stop shoppers from switching to its discounter competitors as consumers search for the cheapest prices through the cost-of-living crisis.
