Morrisons is helping customers save money on fuel as costs continue to soar.
As a result, the supermarket giant is offering customers who spend £40 in store until 9 October, a coupon which deducts 5p off every litre of fuel purchased.
The move comes as last month, 67% of parents felt “overwhelmed” about paying for essentials such as food and petrol during the cost-of-living crisis.
“Fuel prices are one of the biggest expenses people across the UK are facing as the cost-of-living increases,” Morrisons chief customer and marketing officer Rachel Eyre said.

“We want to help our customers save money wherever we can and hope this offer can help make budgets go a little further.”
The required £40 customer spend, however, excludes: fuel, tobacco, lottery products, Morrisons Café, gift vouchers and cards, infant/formula milk, cash back, dry cleaning, fireworks, online games and instant tickets.
The restrictions also include items such as photo printing, saver stamps, postage stamps, mobile phone credit, delivery charges/pass, garden centre and pharmacy items.
The move comes as Aldi has overtaken Morrisons as the UK’s fourth largest grocer. Aldi’s UK grocery market share saw a 9.2% rise in the four weeks to 7 August, whereas Morrisons sat at 9%.
