Waitrose launches savings campaign to help shoppers combat rising prices
Waitrose has launched its Great September Savings campaign which looks to help shoppers save on over 4,000 branded and own-label items as the cost-of-living crisis continues.
The seasonal campaign running until 27 September online and in-store includes offers such as half price, save one third, 25% off, multibuy deals and My Waitrose offers to customers signed up to the retailer‘s loyalty rewards scheme.
Customers will see the promotions rolling out across a range of categories such as fresh foods, bakery, frozen, alcohol and a variety of household toiletries and essentials.
Special offers are also available including ‘3 for 2’ on President Cheese, ‘2 for £2’ on Tilda Rice and £10 Chinese and Asian meal deals.
Products such as Heinz Beanz, McVitie’s Digestives, Hellmann’s Mayonnaise and John West Tuna Chunks all fall within the ‘save 1/3’ category alongside Waitrose own-brand items including apples, tomatoes and cheddar cheese.
Along with its own-label items, the retailer has created a range of ‘super saver recipes’, which it says cost under £2 a portion to create using Waitrose Essential ingredients.
Recipes which range from 15 minutes to 2 hours includes ‘veggie noodle soup with eggs’, ‘sausage and bean hotpot’, ‘pot-roast chicken’ and ‘bolognese with tagliatelle’.
“We’re committed to offering great value, and have thousands of price reductions in our Great September Savings event,” a Waitrose spokesperson told The Grocer.
“They’re all made from ingredients from our Essential Waitrose range, so customers can get the quality and ethical sourcing they expect from Waitrose, whilst cooking up budget-friendly dishes.”
This news comes as Waitrose also looks to help its staff during the cost-of-living crisis as John Lewis Partnership, its parent company, has announced it will offer free meals to all employees and temporary workers from 3 October to 6 January.
