Confectionary company, Perfetti Van Melle has announced its recent trading milestone, hitting £100 million in UK sales.
Known for brands including Mentos, Fruittella, Smint and Chupa Chups, the family business currently sits as the fastest growing manufacturer of mints, gum and candy.
Perfetti Van Melle also holds the title as the UK’s largest supplier of sugar-free sweets growing 22% year on year, in line with the governments upcoming restrictions on products high in fat, salt or sugar as it looks to ban promotions and multi-buy deals to tackle the issue of obesity in the UK.
Along with many other retailers and FMCG brands looking to increase their sustainability efforts, Perfetti Van Melle has announced it will be replacing the plastic sticks in its Chupa Chup lollipops with paper sticks which will remove around 5,000 metric tons of plastic each year.
