Aldi on the hunt for an official beer taster

Aldi has kicked off its hunt for an official beer taster, who will get to review its new range of ciders, beers and lagers.

According to the discount grocer, the successful candidate should have a passion for beer and “pints of enthusiasm” as they would have to review the entire range which launches on 15 September.

As a result, the successful candidate will receive a selection of beer in exchange for their views, which will be used to inform bosses before the launch of its new range.

To be in chance of getting the role, candidates need to send an email to the supermarket explaining why they think they should be chosen for the role, as well as outlining what their favourite beer.

“We’re looking for someone with passion and excitement when it comes to craft ale, but who can honestly review our range and provide suggestions as to how we might improve it for next year. For beer lovers, this is the ultimate opportunity,” Aldi UK managing director of buying Julie Ashfield said.

The news comes as Aldi has scrapped its packaging-free store trial as it now looks into its future sustainability plans.

The discount grocer launched its packaging-free trial at its store in Ulverston, Cumbria last year aiming to reduce waste and encourage sustainable shopping among the discount retailer‘s customers.
