Co-op festival pop-up returns to Worthy Farm for Glastonbury 2022

The Co-op will be returning to Worthy Farm with its pop-up festival supermarket for the second year as it provides food and camping essentials for Glastonbury 2022.

This will be the supermarket’s second year at the iconic music and performing arts festival, after a pop-up Co-op first appeared at the festival in 2019.

More than 200,000 people are expected to descend on the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world, which is taking place from 22 – 26 June.

Festival-goers will be able to source all their weekend essentials from the Co-op’s custom-built barn supermarket, a fully operational 6,000-sq ft food store. It will not sell alcohol but it will stock more than 300 traditional supermarket food, drink and other products such as sun cream and rain ponchos.

It will also stock Worthy Farm Reserve Cheddar, which is exclusive to Co-op and is made using milk from the dairy herd that lives on the festival site.

The Co-op will be following Glastonbury’s drive to reduce waste and will not be selling single-use plastic bottles on site. It will only sell recyclable aluminium cans of spring water, in addition to refillable water bottles which can be filled from water taps on the site.

The Co-op has previously said its partnership with Glastonbury Festival was “founded in a shared ethos of co-operation, community support, ethical values and campaigning to make meaningful change”.

“Music festivals create a happy, weekend community which we are perfectly placed to serve, getting closer to customers with our unique convenience offer, providing high quality and value for money essential items to help festival-goers make the most of their Glastonbury experience,” said Co-op’s director of marketing live and local Amanda Jennings.
