Boughey distribution names new managing director

Boughey Distribution has announced the appointment of Angela Carus as its new managing director.

She takes over the role from Keith Forster, who has retired after 20 years with the company. Carus joins the company from Culina, where she was operations director for the last two-and-a-half years.

Carus got started in the logistics industry shortly after leaving school and held various senior roles with a broad spectrum of companies including Gist, Kuehne + Nagel, XPO and NYK Logistics.

“We have a talented team of people here who are passionate and proud of the business they’re part of,” Carus said.

“Our people, a substantial number with long service records, are the company’s most important asset and what really stands out is the ‘family feel’ of the business which, for a company with a turnover of £62m, is a real asset.”

When addressing the company’s and industry’s biggest challenges, she said: “As we all know the cost of living is increasing, so staff benefits packages will be a priority as will looking at ways we can help our colleagues to save money.”

“Finding ways to take costs out of the supply chain by working with customers will also be key to our success, as well as developing our staff skills.”

She added: “We want to be one of the industry leaders in environmental responsibility. We are exploring a number of areas to see how and where we can improve on our carbon impact.”
