Mars Wrigley – the chocolate, chewing gum, mints and fruity confections supplier – has announced the appointment of Marc Carena as its new regional president for Europe, CIS and Turkey.

Carena joins the confectionary company from McDonald’s Russia, where he spent almost four years as managing director maintaining full responsibility for the Russian market, including over 850 restaurants and 65,000 employees.

Before joining McDonald’s Carena spent over six years in senior general management and marketing positions at German retailer, Metro Group, and at Nestlé across Europe, Asia and Africa.

In his new position, Carena will bring extensive experience in retail, foodservice and FMCG to help enhance and drive Mars Wrigley’s strategy.

The regional president position was previously held by Shaid Shah, who is now serving as Mars Wrigley’s global president of food, multi-sales and global customers.
