Aldi wins gold at World Vodka Awards

Aldi’s own brand vodka, Saint Gérmont, has won gold at the World Vodka Awards 2022.

The discount retailers premium vodka retailling at £14.99 overtook its competition with a number of branded spirits also earning top spots.

The announcement comes as Aldi reintroduced the vodkas raspberry flavoured variant – Saint Gérmont Raspberry Vodka (70cl RRP £14.99).

Earning the popular vote, the discount retailer’s vodka was praised for its “well-balanced raspberry flavours” made using water from the Charente region.

Saint Gérmont vodka which has been “carefully crafted in the heart of France” is also made with French wheat and is distilled five times for “purity”.

The news comes as Aldi was named the “Best Spirits Supermarket 2022” at the People’s Choice Drinks Awards earlier this month.

With the cost-of-living crisis looming, shoppers have also swapped to Aldi, which has also earned the “cheapest supermarket of the year” by Which?
