Morrisons will be carrying out thousands of acts of kindness to “spread the love” this Valentine’s Day after last year was restricted by a national lockdown.
The acts will include giving away free red roses and chocolates in local communities to spread kindness after a difficult year,
Additionally, the retailer will provide elderly couples in care homes with free Valentine’s Day meals for two and allow customers to nominate people to receive Valentine’s hampers.

The acts will be carried out from 11 February to 14 February with a Community Champion from every Morrisons store to venture into local communities to deliver romantic gifts.
“We want to make this Valentine’s Day extra special after it couldn’t be celebrated as usual last year,” Morrisons community director Rebecca Singleton.
“We believe that small acts of kindness can make a big difference to someone’s day, and so our Community Champions are becoming Cupid Champions to spread happiness across the UK and celebrate the occasion.”
The acts of kindness come as Morrisons has unveiled its Best Dine in For Two Meal Deal where customers can get a three-course dining experience including starters, mains, two sides, dessert and wine for £15.
Compared to buying the items separately, shoppers can save over 50% by opting for the Valentine’s meal deal.
