Gorillas and French delivery service Frichti have entered exclusive discussions to work together in a bid to “shape the next generation” of the rapid grocery delivery industry.

The partnership will allow Gorillas to broaden its local footprint and density and acquire access to Frichti’s, private label and ready-to-eat products, expanding Gorillas portfolio of goods.

Since launching in 2015, Frichti has become France’s leading instant food and grocery delivery service, delivering fresh goods, private label products and ready-to-eat meals to over 450,000 customers in eight cities across France and Belgium.

“We are super energised from our discussions and alignment on what we want to build together. It’s thrilling that we are committed to provide consumers immediate access to their essential needs.” Gorillas founder and chief executive Kagan Sümer said.

Frichti co-founder and co-chief-executive Quentin Vacher added: “I believe we are building the next model of commerce that might prove to be the century’s biggest revolution in how we shop for groceries.”
