Morrisons has opened the doors to its new Kirby store, the first supermarket to open in the town in over 40 years.
According to the Big 4 grocer, the location is set to provide 275 full and part-time jobs for the local economy.
The 26,000 sq ft store features bakery, butchery and fishmonger counters alongside Morrison’s Nutmeg clothing selection.
The new store also includes a Market Kitchen where customers can order meals from in-store chefs and have them delivered with Deliveroo.

The supermarket further confirmed that it will be stocking its ranges of Free From products, cookware and soft furnishings, florist selections and its Morrisons the Best lineup.
“We know the residents of Kirby have been eagerly anticipating the opening of this store, particularly as there hasn’t been a supermarket here for several decades,” Store manager Eddie Pritchard said.
“We are looking forward to meeting and serving the community.”
Knowsley Council leader Graham Morgan added: “Since the Council took ownership of the town centre two years ago, significant progress has been made on Kirby’s town centre retail.
“We are delighted to see Morrisons open its doors in the town centre, something residents have been eagerly anticipating for a long time.”
