Central Co-op store reopens after £103k renovation

A central Co-op store in South Derbyshire has reopened following a £103,000 renovation.

The Burton Road Overseal branch has been updated with a series of new additions including fresh internal signage and decoration and an improved food selection, which features a Tango Ice Blast machine and Rollover hot dogs.

The store has also received an extension to its refrigeration section with extended chilled beer and wine ranges.

The store will be open Monday to Saturday from 7am to 9:30pm and Sunday from 8am to 9:30pm.

According to the convenience retailer, its staff have been working during the renovation process to keep up with demand over the lockdown and have ensured that people in the local area are still able to access its products over the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The whole team are really excited about the improvements to the store and have been eagerly awaiting it all being finished so we can showcase the transformation to our local community”, store manager Kim Grice said.

“The feedback to the changes so far has been really positive from our customers, and I would like to thank the community for their patience while the work has been completed but I hope they agree with us that it has been worth it.
