Aldi has launched a limited edition footlong sushi roll in celebration of the Tokyo Olympics.  

The 12-inch roll features two flavours, including katsu chicken topped with black sesame seeds & crispy onions in one half and smoked salmon rolled in sesame seeds in the other.   

The sushi roll is available at in stores, retailing for £2.49.

The store announced its new release on Instagram with the caption reading: “What’s better than fresh sushi on a summer’s day? Footlong sushi.”  

The product is the latest in a series of sushi promotions by the store, which are marketing its range as a “true taste of Tokyo.”  

The selection includes duck, chicken and vegetarian options for customers to purchase alongside the footlong roll.
