Asda has revealed that 5000 jobs are at risk after closing two warehouses and reshuffling back-office positions.
The move follows an increase in online sales amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Asda will close dark stores in Dartford and Heston to focus on its online delivery service by sourcing from local stores instead, affecting 800 staff.

The Big 4 grocer also plans to combine cash office, administration and HR responsibilities as shoppers use less cash, affecting 5,000 workers.
However, Asda claimed that its online expansion will create 4500 jobs in web operations and delivery services.
The company said that it aims to move as many workers as possible into alternative roles.
