Tesco is creating more same day delivery slots for its customers by offering them earlier in the day, in a move it described as “market leading”.

Currently, iy offers same-day Click+Collect slots starting from 4pm and home delivery slots from 7pm, however in over 400 large stores across the UK, the supermarket giant will now be starting Click+Collect from midday and home delivery from 1pm.

Customers will follow the same booking process, with the newly available slots showing on the booking page with the option to place or amend their order by 8:45am on that day.

According to Tesco, the move means that it now offers same-day slots which are at least four hours earlier than the earliest slot offered by any other full-line retailer.

Tesco online managing director Tom Denyard said: “We are excited to have rolled out more same-day opportunities for customers to get an online slot, offering customers more spaces – and therefore more flexibility – than ever before.

“This allows them to book closer to their delivery or collection time and therefore improve our market-leading customer experience.”
