Co-op launches Fairtrade-certified Trapiche wine
Co-op has launched the new Fairtrade-certified Trapiche Pure Malbec 2025 wine, which is available in stores nationwide for £9.25.
The launch is part of the convenience retailer’s and Fairtrade’s 30+ year partnership and is a move which strengthens Co-op’s commitment to ethical and sustainable wine retailing.
This wine is part of the brand’s renewed platform, “Explore Something New Tonight” which aims to invite shoppers to explore new flavours.
Co-op senior wine buying manager, Eleanor Pinfield said: “Fairtrade puts responsible and ethical sourcing at the heart of everything it does, and we’ve seen firsthand the positive impact it has for growers, workers and their communities.
“As the world’s biggest seller of Fairtrade wine, we’re thrilled to see much-loved brands like Trapiche Pure making the switch and so making it even easier for shoppers to choose Fairtrade.”

According to the business, the winemaking process is consciously minimal intervention with six months of ageing with no oak influence.
The Fairtrade certification is set to support long-term community projects in Mendoza which cater to the needs of local families and workers.
International marketing manager of Trapiche, Josefina Castro Feijóo said: “The launch of Trapiche Pure with Co-op is a key step in this journey, bringing an accessible, high-quality and Fairtrade-certified wine to consumers who are increasingly seeking both discovery and conscious choices.
“This launch reflects our ongoing dedication to exploration while staying deeply rooted in Trapiche’s heritage.”
This builds on Co-op’s commitment to sourcing Fairtrade products, previously moving to 100 per cent certified roses in 2024.
