Tesco expands in-store parcel locker offering with rollout of new trial

News

Tesco is expanding its in-store parcel locker offering as part of a new trial with delivery firm Evri.

The supermarket has begun installing Evri-branded lockers across a small number of Extra and Superstore locations, as part of a broader locker hub trial that brings together multiple parcel providers within its stores.

The move reflects Tesco’s ongoing push to enhance customer convenience by integrating additional services into its physical estate, allowing shoppers to collect, send and return parcels alongside their grocery shop.

Tesco said the trial builds on its existing partnership with Evri, which enables customers to earn Clubcard points on parcels sent through the delivery firm.

A Tesco strategic partnerships spokesperson said: “We’re constantly looking for ways to make the shopping trip even more convenient for our customers, and as part of a small locker hub partner trial across a number of stores, we’re pleased to introduce Evri lockers.”

The rollout comes as demand for out-of-home delivery options continues to grow, with parcel lockers becoming an increasingly popular alternative to home delivery.

Evri said its own data shows locker usage has risen sharply over the past year, with more consumers opting for flexible, contact-free collection and returns.

The lockers offer features including QR code access and print-at-locker functionality, enabling faster and more seamless parcel handling.

Tesco’s move also aligns with wider industry trends, as retailers look to maximise store footfall and improve service propositions by embedding additional everyday services into their physical locations.

The trial is expected to inform whether a wider rollout of Evri lockers across Tesco’s estate will follow.
