Scott will remain in her current role of COO until May of next year when she will become chief executive designate before officially taking over as CEO from Brodie in August.<\/p>\n Previously Scott held the role of head of Semichem at Scotmid and has 36 years experience in retail.<\/p>\n The appointment also marks a milestone as Scott is to become the first female CEO in the 164 year history of Scotmid Co-op.<\/p>\n Sign up\u00a0here to get the latest grocery and food news<\/span>\u00a0each morning<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n She said: “It really is an honour to be appointed to this position. It is a huge responsibility to take over from John next year.<\/p>\n “Obviously it is a major step up to be CEO but I am ready for all the challenges that lie ahead. I am looking forward to working with the board and John in the lead up to next August.”<\/p>\n
