{"id":27930,"date":"2022-02-28T15:28:27","date_gmt":"2022-02-28T15:28:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grocerygazette.co.uk\/?p=27930"},"modified":"2022-03-01T09:42:06","modified_gmt":"2022-03-01T09:42:06","slug":"nectar-charity-crowdfunder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grocerygazette.co.uk\/2022\/02\/28\/nectar-charity-crowdfunder\/","title":{"rendered":"Points make positivity: Nectar lets customers donate to charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\nNectar members can now donate points to help support UK charities and causes of their choice, thanks to Nectar Donate \u2013 a new partnership with the UK\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crowdfunder.co.uk\/nectar-donate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leading crowdfunding platform<\/a>, Crowdfunder.<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nectar.com\/brands\/nectar-donate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> loyalty rewards scheme<\/a>, which is owned by Sainsbury&#8217;s, now allows customers to donate points to a participating charity of their choice by simply logging on to the Nectar app.<\/p>\n<p>With \u00a3250m worth of points up for grabs from Nectar\u2019s 18 million UK members, a wide range of charities have already signed up to the programme; from local grassroots organisations to larger national charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support and Alzheimer\u2019s Research UK.<\/p>\n<p>Once registered, customers can donate a minimum of 200 Nectar points (the equivalent of \u00a31) to their chosen charity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grocerygazette.co.uk\/2021\/09\/28\/sainsburys-nectar-points\/\">Shoppers \u2018miss out\u2019 as Sainsbury\u2019s scraps double Nectar points<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The platform has been launched following research which revealed that most Nectar customers would like to donate their Nectar points to good causes.
